Local Kids Get The Chance To Treat Their Mums
LOCAL KIDS GET THE CHANCE TO TREAT THEIR MUMS
Two year five pupils from Wybourn Community Primary School were given the chance to splash the cash for Mother’s Day, on The Moor, and were amazed at how much they bought.
Armed with £10 each, Connor Marshall, 9, and Saskia James, 10, both from Wybourn, spent an hour shopping on The Moor, with the help of City Centre Ambassador Jason Warner.
Connor said; “This has been a great morning and I can’t believe how much I’ve been able to buy with just £10. I got a huge card from the market for just £1, as well as a clock, a bookmark and pen set, a mug, some pens, a photo frame, a plaque with a poem in it and some wrapping paper. I even got some bubbles to blow for my mum on Sunday morning as I know how much she likes them.”
As well as shopping at the market Connor and Saskia also bought presents from Poundland and the Card Factory.
Saskia said: “I know my mum will be really pleased with all the things I have bought for her. I also got a great big card as well as two boxes of chocolates, a snow globe, a teddy bear, a mum certificate and an apron that says ‘Simply the best mum ever’ - my mum is a cook at our school and I hope that she will wear the apron to work. I can’t wait until Sunday to give her all the presents.”
Sandra Barley, Centre Liaison Manager at The Moor, organised for the pupils to shop for Mother’s Day, she said; “I’m so pleased at how much Connor and Saskia have enjoyed doing their shopping and it’s brilliant that they have been able to buy such good quality presents for their mum’s. “We’ve loads of great shops at The Moor with perfect gifts for Mother’s Day, from a bouquet of flowers at Sainsbury’s to perfume from Boots, there really is something for everyone to choose from.”
