Santa's on the Bus

Santa took an unusual trip to The Moor on Sunday 9th December, in a festively decorated First Bus! Children clambered aboard the festive vehicle to give Santa their Christmas wishes from 12-3pm.

All visits were absolutely free, and youngsters were even able to take a home a balloon model made whilst they waited.

Sandra Barley, Centre Liaison Manager for Moor Sheffield, says: “Santa and his bus proved hugely popular last year, and we’re hoping that even more people will turn out to greet him this time! Children love the novelty of it all. We’ve already had Santa coming in a horse and carriage earlier in the month, and now he’s here on a bus – he certainly gets around a bit!”

Once the youngsters finished telling Santa their secrets they belted out their favourite Christmas tunes on the festive Carol-oke, which ran on The Moor from 12pm-3pm – again completely free of charge and with a free gift for everyone!

Children and their families were also able to gain information on the Kids Safe in Sheffield scheme, launched in the city centre this week. The scheme, sponsored by MoorSheffield, brings together key organisations in the city to provide a hotline for parents and guardians who lose their children when out shopping. Parents are also encouraged to pick up free wristbands for their children at shop counters, so their kids can carry their contact details at all times. The Kids Safe Number is 0114 2734542
